Thanksgiving Vacation

My fun filled vacation to Okinawa is over. Yes, I had a great time!!!

The trip started out fantastic; Sarah came to pick me up at the airport and of course we did the giggle fest all the way to her house. I think we laughed the entire time I was there; except for a few days when I was too swollen to laugh. Oh, yes, I was swollen and I will get to that.

Friday & Saturday I went out to my favorite bar with my friends: Sarah, Marcus, Tommy, Ray, and then went to find Frank & Jeremy. I have some great pictures of Jeremy trying to cop a feel. Too funny! Sarah joined us later and we had a great time. I played bones with the boys and even won a game! Woohoo go Kat!

Sunday, I went on a date and we had a great time. I picked him up at Camp Kinser and we made the drive to Miyagi. My favorite Korean BBQ place is there and this is where we had dinner. I love Korean BBQ. Anyway, we talked, laughed, and then went to Sarah’s. It was raining and I had a skirt on; I really needed to change. It was getting late and I drove him up to Camp Hansen.

Now for the swollen part: About a month before vacation I had a tooth ache. I thought I cracked my crown and could get by until I got home to Bakersfield.

Ahhhh NOPE. I had an infection in the root under the crown and the infection caused the tooth to rise up; which is why it hurt so much. Well, after dinner and drive home on Sunday, I used the Oragel and a hot wash cloth to help with the pain. It worked; until the hot cloth pulled the infection from my tooth and into my cheek and jaw. So there I was Monday; looking like the elephant man and going to the Air Force Dental Clinic. Thank god they got me in. I ended up getting a root canal and having the inside of my jaw cut open to drain the infection. Oh, and they filed down my crown, so it wouldn’t hurt when I ate.

Then Tuesday it got worse; I went back to the dental clinic and was more swollen. The infection had spread. They decided to pull the tooth and recut my gums. So now I'm toothless Trina but I had great drugs!!! I’m doing much better by the way.

I spent Wed getting better and Thursday was Thanksgiving. I could hardly open my mouth but managed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy, a little mac n cheese, and turkey. Jeremy offered to chew up my food for me and I said “I’m not a baby bird”. I do love my boys.

Sarah and I went out Friday and Saturday. We went to the Irish Pub on BC street, the O Club for a little dancing, the Hard Reef for hottie watching, and the Eclipse to round out the evening. Yes, I still went out even with a swollen face. Why let a little vanity stop you from having a good time. Besides, had I stayed home, Sarah would have kicked my ass and kicked me out!

I caught a cold Saturday night and have been dealing with it ever since.

Vacation stats: Partied hard, met men, went on date, had root canal, had tooth extracted, lost weight, danced, and had Thanksgiving. I think that’s a pretty good vacation. At least for me it is!
