Final Trip To Okinawa

On this trip, I spent a lot of time with Ray, Eriq, and Sarah. Ray being my brother offered up a place for me to crash out. I was a block away from the Sea Wall and our bar! Plus, it allowed me to spend some quality time with my dear friend. Ray even cooked breakfast for me on Friday. A man who cooks!!!

Higa picked me up and we went to “our place”, the Korean BBQ. I love the food there and we spent a good hour talking. She even offered to drive me to the airport and I accepted.

Sarah and I went to dinner Thursday and of course we went to the “Kiti”. It’s our place and sits above a bowling alley but man do they have great sushi. We went back to her place and talked for hours. It was so good to be able to do that again. I miss talking and laughing with my Sarah.

I checked out of “Casa de Ray” on Friday afternoon and went to a hotel (Divers Inn). I loved my room and my view. I was directly on the Sea Wall and that is what heard when I went to sleep and woke up. Nothing soothes me more than the sound of the ocean.

Frank is just the sweetest thing ever and took me to dinner Friday evening. I got to spend time with both Frank and Geoff (who was visiting). Frank is just the most laid-back guy ever and I love being around him. He always put’s a smile on my face and his laugh is just contagious.

We went to the bar Friday night and hung out there. I was able to see Marcus, Frank, Lou, Jeremy, Ray, and Eriq; however, me being the non partier now was home in bed before 3am. Now you have to realize, when I’m on Okinawa, I’m usually out until 5 or 6am. So for me to be home in bed at 3am, told me just how old I’ve gotten!

Saturday was Eriq’s birthday party at the bar. We played bones and had some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I think I can list all of it: BBQ Chicken, ribs, brauts, mac n cheese, mahi mahi, shrimp (2 kinds), and rice. I was so stuffed. The boys know how to grill. Remember, I said I was old. Well, I was home and in bed by 2am. Don’t ask me why but I think the past year of work finally caught up to me and I hit the bed hard all weekend.

Sunday, Sarah and I went to breakfast on the Sea Wall and I hung out at her house until Higa picked me up. I love those two ladies.

This was a great vacation and one I truly needed. I feel much more relaxed now. I didn’t even get drunk. That speaks loudly!!!

Good friends + good food = great times!

Sounds like you need an Edwards reunion as well! Maybe when you make it back to the States . . .
