1 Year Stateside & Frozen Solid

I’ve been back in the states exactly one year and the year flew by so fast. I’m slowly making friends and most are from work. I love those ladies; each is unique and has a wonderful soul.

I was also thrilled when Kim moved here from Guam. Kim is another amazing lady and a great friend. Now our friend Jessica is moving here and will be working on the same base as Kim and I. How strange is it that the Guam Girls would end up in DC, together to wreak havoc.

It’s been an interesting winter here in Virginia. Everyone told me that the winters are mild here; I think they are liars! I guess I’ll have to wait it out for 2011 and see if this is a fluke.

I have to admit that last winter I about froze to death but I think that had more to do with the fact that I had just left Guam and wasn’t use to temperatures below 80 and we had one snow day and I almost died. Now it’s 2010 and we have had the worst winter in 100 years. 54.9 inches of snow fall so far and winter isn’t over yet. Cabin fever has set in and I don’t do well with cabin fever. I need human interaction!

Anyway, I’m a very lucky woman. I have an apartment I love, friends around the world I can always count on, family who loves me, and a job that keeps my brain occupied. Anyone who knows me, knows this….keep Kat occupied or she is like a small child….gets into things she shouldn’t and destructive!
