Talofofo Falls

Yesterday was a pretty great day. One of the participants of the conference didn’t get to leave until Sunday and since he didn’t have a car, I agreed to take him around the island. We went to Talofofo Falls; it isn’t that big of a place but it was fun. We went through the haunted house and the first time something jumped out at me, I have to admit to being startled but then laughed about it.

We then took the cable car down to the falls; it was hot and muggy but we didn’t care. Great views though; what a pretty place. We found the Yokoi caves; it’s where a guy lived for 28 yrs during after the war. He was a Japanese soldier who lived in this hole and didn’t know the war was over. So sad. Then we went to the firing range and he had to try out two guns; 45 & M1 Grand. I think those are the names; I’m not good with identifying fire arms!

After the falls we drove through Inajaran; Inajaran is a ancient village and they have these great natural pools and since it’s on the Pacific side of the island, the waves come right up to the shore. We then drove down to the CoCo Island Landing; I’m not sure of the villages name but we stopped there and had soda’s with some locals. Everything was closed down by 5pm, so they just let us join them.

We went to dinner at Kiko’s; they have great food. Steak and baked potato; I know I know, but it was so good. I’ve written about Jimmy Dee’s before, the beach bar; we went there for a few drinks and then I dropped him off at his hotel. By this time it was 9pm and I was worn out; so was David. It was a long day but we had a blast.
