I don’t know about the rest of you but sometimes I do the dumbest things. I get so busy that I forget to do things or I’m not careful. I know we all do this but recently:
I was house sitting for my GS-15 and he lives in base housing; the other day I went over to the house after work. I was checking my email and remember I needed to get the mail. So I go outside and get the mail; I come back and realize I have locked myself out of the house. Now there I am, locked out, no cell, no car keys; no nothing. The door has one of those darned button locks and even if it’s partially turned won’t unlock. My bad!
I see a housing garbage man and go over and ask if he can contact housing. He tells me someone is coming to help me. Then the military police show up and try to help. We checked the windows, tried the credit card trick, and no love. The housing office wouldn’t help me get back inside because I wasn’t put on the list of approved emergency entry people. Ok, this really ticked me off but the regulations are there for a reason. I don’t want anyone getting into trouble. Then I remember that a neighbor has their car and should have a house key but I don't know which house. I only know the street they are on. I told the housing lady not to worry, I found the spare.
So I tell the security police man about it and he drives down the street looking for a van with an Ohio State decal on it. He finds it and I go there with him to get the keys. I get the spare and walk back. Ok, here is the funny part.... Did I forget to mention that I was wearing PJ’s. So there I am in front of all these men (garbage man, security police, and the neighbors) marching through housing in flip flops, red flannel pajama bottoms, red tank top that says "naughty girls get more presents”, and BRALESS!
Needless to say….they all laughed at me and the garbage man tried to hang around a little too long; he was just checking on me….hahaha, yeah right.
