Family, Friends, & Fireworks

I was able to make a trip home to Bakersfield over the 4th of July weekend. It's the first time since December 2005 ALL of my siblings and I have been together. I've forgotten what it was like. I instantly went into big sister mode and then had to reel it back in.

I also caught a nasty cold....... and I hate LA traffic by the way. I'm convinced sitting in traffic for 3 hours breathing in the LA air caused my sinus issue.

Anyway, we had a BBQ on Friday with the family. Brandon has gotten so big; he is almost as tall as me and looks so much like Damon at that age. It's a bit freaky.

Also, my cousin Ashlee and her baby girl Kadie (from Guam!) where there. I was able to visit with them and have some quality time.

Saturday we went to the Louden's house for BBQ and fireworks. We've been friends since I was 9yrs old. Mike invited others I knew too: Mark Shockly, Paul Demkey, John Doll, & Heather Bouton. I've known all of them since High School.

All in all, the visit was wonderful and exactly what I needed. I'll see everyone again at Xmas. It was just so good to reconnect with my family.
