We dined at Bastille during Restaurant Week and I’m extremely impressed. If you have an opportunity to dine at Bastille, take that opportunity and enjoy. The service is impeccable and the food is heavenly.
My ordering skills were on point tonight and I think my meal was by far the best but my friends dishes were really good too.
I ordered the following:
First course – Beignets of shrimp, corn, and basil served with aioli. Oh my goodness was this delicious. The shrimp played the main role and the aioli was just spicy enough. What a perfect complement to the beignets.
Entrée: We didn’t eat off the main menu and took the servers advice and tried the special.
Branzino (sea bass) with couscous. The fish had a mild flavor but the seared skin had a wonder flavor. The couscous was excellent and anything else would have been too heavy.
I ordered the Rocky Road Marquise. The dish was accompanied by chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, and Virginia peanuts. This is an extremely rich dessert and the marquise would have been too rich if I hadn’t had combined all the ingredients into a single bite.
